I want to be a Flapper! 0

Oh yes, I have decided I have missed out on an awesome era. That of the 1920′s when women were breaking free and expressing themselves in sexy garments and undergarments, had bobbed hair, listened to jazz, enjoyed sex (shhh..yes really enjoyed!) drank, wore makeup and had fun! Think the musical Chicago and you will get the image!

It was an era when women said no to the flat chest and broke free into what we see now as the bra! Sexy, classy, and sultry.

The reason I have come to this conclusion is because I got a fabulous day off (from that Multiple Mummy life) last week to view the new Spring/Summer collection of underwear and swimwear brought to you by Eveden!

Autumn/Winter 2011: Freya Naomi Review 0

So it’s safe to say that winter is here. Soon we’ll be turning our clocks back and our evenings will get darker and gloomier before our very eyes. One thing that has kept me cheerful through this dark time has been waiting for my next Freya pick-me-up to arrive and I have to say A/W 2011 looks set to be an absolute treat.

First up from the collection I was kindly sent a Freya Naomi to have a look at and I have to say it’s not my usual style. I’m very much more of a FLORALS upon FLORALS kind of girl with the odd splash of lace, however the Naomi’s quirky monochrome houndstooth was something that didn’t scream ‘BUY ME’ when I was salivating over the sumptuous ‘Coming Soon‘ part of Freya’s all-new website.

Sex and the city vintage style 0

I am currently running a little book club over on my blog, and us Diva Readers are enjoying the classic novel The Best of Everything, by Rona Jaffe. ( do come and join in the fun!).

This novel is set and written in the 50′s, and precedes Sex and the City by 40 years, yet the themes are the same. Style, women in the workplace, fast paces New York, friendships, relationships. More

Freya at the MOBO Awards 0

Last week I was lucky enough to have been invited by Freya along to the MOBO Awards show in Glasgow, Scotland. My first thoughts were: ‘Crumbs, what am I going to wear?!’ and ‘How am I going to contain myself amongst all the celebs? It was a tough job but somebody had to do it and I had one of the most amazing star-studded and bass-fuelled nights of my life! I arrived in Bristol to catch my flight on Tuesday 4th and after some panic dress and clutch bag buying boarded my plane, full to the brim with nerves and dreading the inevitable delay or terrible even curse which seems to haunt me when I’m due someplace important at a certain time which leads to nothing but shredded nerves and smudged nail varnish (but that’s another story!) Amazingly, nothing dreadful or unfortunate happened on my travels to Glasgow (other than perhaps embarrassing myself when I got really excited by a man wearing a kilt in the airport *cringe*) and I found I had a few hours to do a bit more panic shopping in Glasgow city centre, paint my nails and watch the Alan Titchmarsh show in my hotel room. Nerves and excitement aside, I teetered on my stilettos to the SECC Arena in Glasgow, retrieved my press pass and hall ticket and marched past all the screaming fans to the red carpet area to get my Tweet on for Freya.
