Christmas lingerie for wife

Years and years ago, my older sister used to work in the lingerie department at a large luxury department store in Manchester, where every year in December ( usually a couple of days before Christmas, if not Christmas Eve itself), she would be inundated with panic-stricken gents who had planned to pick their wife the perfect lingerie set for Christmas, but had simply run out of time (or inspiration!)

As one guy reached for the stereotypical red, lacy micro lingerie set, my sister went over to give the guy a hand as every year in January, the red, lacy sets would be returned by the wives and exchanged for something pretty and sexy but practical – in essence, something both her AND her man could enjoy ;) More

I’ve had something of a breakthrough, and wanted to share it with you. As one of Freya’s bloggers, I get to try lots of their bras, but so far I’m afraid I’ve probably been quite unadventurous, generally sticking to the sort of styles I’m used to. But the other day, the lovely folk at Freya popped a new bra in the post that I hadn’t requested; the Deco Honey Moulded Plunge Bra. More

Winter Comforts

I have a confession to make. I LOVE winter. As everyone else starts lamenting over the dark evenings and chilly temperatures, I secretly love snuggling up under a duvet on the sofa, digging out my thick tights and woolly hats and seeing my breath in the air. This may have something to do with having spent much of my childhood growing up in the Mediterranean where we had little in the way of seasons- it’s slightly colder in the winter but I definitely remember spending a number of Christmas days in jeans and a t-shirt. So proper cold weather is still something of a novelty for me- as is really warming, comfort food and drink. My list of Christmas presents for friends and family nearly always includes a cookbook, and this year is no exception. More

Freya at the MOBO Awards 2012

On Saturday night I was lucky enough to get a red carpet pass to the MOBO Awards in Liverpool at The Echo Arena with the fabulous Freya team!! Freya were backstage in the VIP area with their amazing travelling Freya Bra Booth handing out lingerie goody bags, bra fittings and underwear advice to the stars and their dancers. Talk about bras for the stars!

I have to say deciding what to wear was a slight drama – even in my role as a personal shopper for My Style Companion! I had been so busy with personal shopping appointments with clients that (as usual) I had no time to work out my own outfit (the hazards of being a personal shopper I’m afraid). However I pulled out my favourite AW12 McQ feather dress by Alexander McQueen and decided that was a winner – I wanted to go for a more relaxed urban ‘red carpet’ vibe rather than the usual glitz and glamour. However at the end of summer I wore this dress with nude peep toes and a nude blazer and realised that at minus three degrees, I may need something warmer for my feet and arms seeing as I would be standing next to the River Mersey!
