Going Strapless and heels hurt!

Going Strapless and heels hurt! 0

Life has been manic lately. Trying to find the time to site down at the computer without someone telling they need a wee, or a drink, or so and so has taken there toy has become tough. I have also had lots of work commitments on top of a husband that has taken on extra work, so for the last four weeks I have had kids seven days a week and no break (an this week will make three!). I only tell you this because I have not stopped by for a few weeks and have missed the glamour and adult company that is Freya Fitting Talk.

So my last break was four weeks ago when I attended another conference in London. This one was aimed more at the Mummy market but had some fabulous speakers like Sarah Brown and Cherry Healey and Katie Hill all there. It was spread over two days and was full on with seminars you could attend, PR networking, photography workshops and of course an award ceremony.

It was inspiring and brain buzzing and exhausting but I really enjoyed it.

Of course the key thing about preparing for such events is the ‘What to wear scenario?”

I determined to wear heals on the Friday. I love shoes, is it one of my passions but the practicality of wearing these days is not so good, so they stay and look beautiful in the wardrobe, teasing me.

Out they came on Friday – my beautiful Office shoes in a nude colour. OMG how much have I forgotten what heels are like? To say my feet hurt by the end of the day was an understatement. I feared I might never walk again! They did look good though!

What a difference a year makes! 0

This time last year my personal blog was only five months old and I had just found out that I had won the Blog Star competition that Freya had run, so that I could write for this wonderful blog.

I remember feeling very nervous as to what would be expected of me and would I be good enough?

It was lovely to know that you guys had voted me in.

Since that time, the blog has moved forward more than I can ever have imagined. I started writing as a release from being a stay at home Mummy to three under two at the the time! My life was hectic and tiring but fun, however I missed that bit of me time. That reflective element and that challenge and sense of achievement you get from work. I never expected it to lead to freelance writing and more than that I never expected to start another blog called Science Sparks, that it would lead to setting up my own business (it is early stages mind you, and actually not making any money yet, but we live in hope!)

When I tell my friends what is happening, I am not sure they totally get it, and in fact I think they think I am slightly mad!

I kind of understand it. You see, I have gone into business partnership with another parent blogger. A person who I have now met lots of times, but actually met through twitter and via her own blog! It does sound strange. Lets face it, some people are still odd about internet dating, so internet business partnership is probably a little extreme! Her name is Emma and she is just lovely – I am so thankful to have met someone that is such a geek as me!

What a difference a year makes, Multiple Mummy

However in the nine months that we have written and produced Science Sparks - an online resource for parents so they can engage in science activities in the home, it has gone from strength to strength!

We are now up for two National awards from the MAD blog awards, for Most Innovative blog and Best Schooldays blog and My blog Multiple Mummy is up for Best Family Fun blog!

In addition to that my blog is a finalist for blogger of the year by Loved by parents! I am so amazed, I really cannot believe it.

I am so flattered that people enjoy what I write and like to read about my family life. I am inspired and motivated that people to to engage in science with their kids at home. It is all about the wow factor and is a subject we really need to encourage so we can progress and develop. I love that you enjoy my waffling on the Freya blog and I love being able to test out the range for you (obviously it is a tough job, but one I am prepared to put myself through it for you guys! )

If you wanted to spare us a vote for any of the awards I would be so grateful!

A Little Bit of Femininity with Elize

A Little Bit of Femininity with Elize 0

The English word feminine is derived from the Latin femina meaning “woman” or “female,” and literally “she who suckles! I find this amusing that this female word links to the idea of breasts and feeding and feel that again all of woman hood seems to be associated with the idea of boobs.

Maybe breast do define us as in a physical sense as a woman but I think think femininity  is more than that. It includes, behaviours and attribute associated with being female that can actually be seen in all sexes and genders. That could include a love for colours, materials, make-up, heels, romantic comedies – you name the female stero-type and it comes under the umbrella of femininity.

I am ridiculously feminine. I don’t shy away from hard graft, but if I can do it in heels, with my make-up on, then I will! And if I need overalls and my Wellies on, then I want to feel feminine underneath.

This can be done with the most stunning set of lingerie called Elize.

It is made from a beautifully feminine lilac satin material and is edged in sexy black lace. The bra itself is slightly padded to give that little bit of extra support and smooth shape.

The straps are also lilac and edged with black and the knickers come in a brief, shorts or thong variety!

It feels pretty and girly and yet had a sultry feel to it.

I just love it and I know you lovely ladies will too.
