Trip to Eveden Corset Factory – 24th May 2011 0

Eveden factory, Desborough

As you may have read from my last post, the Freya blog meeting was an event I was looking forward to for months. I’d planned my outfit through piles of different shoes, shirts, trousers, dresses and of course, bras; only to have the actual day get off to a pretty bad start. I woke up extra early to make sure I was organised, on time and prepared – I didn’t want to have to rush or risk being late for the ‘big day’.

So, I left my room at 10.30, ready as I could be for the meeting, not a hair out of place. Next step was only to go fill up my petrol and I’d be off for the (just under) two hour drive to Kettering. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Well no, unfortunately it wasn’t. I had some serious bank issues and after what seemed like forever on the phone to customer services and a rather frustrated petrol services chap I ended up leaving for Kettering at 12.40 – nearly two hours later than originally planned!

Nightmare!

The Freya A/W press event, March 17th 2011 – The story of how I became an ‘expert blogger’ 0

The wonder that is Twitter – one day I was just minding my own business blabbering away a load of useless rubbish (under 140 characters) via Twitter about how I was dubious about the Autumn/Winter Freya swim collection. Not that I don’t like it from a design and concept perspective – just nothing really hit me as something that would appeal to me personally. A fan of colourful and fairly loud floral and graphic patterns (my personal favourite Freya bikinis are my trusty Bamboo Island, Mystic and Zodiac), The understated chic of A/W didn’t really grab me.

Next thing I know I get an email from Ann-marie Manley, head of marketing of Eveden Limited expressing her disappointment of my reaction to the collection. My first reaction was – why does she care? I’m just one person who probably has too many bikinis to begin with and has become a bit picky and is stuck in a swimwear-shaped rut. I assured Ann-marie of all of the above and she invited me to the Eveden A/W press event in London to get a closer look at the collection ‘in the flesh’. After wiping the saliva off my chin accepted her invitation and a few weeks later I found myself running down Carnaby Street to the Eveden London office for what was one of the most exciting days of my young life.

I fell in love with Freya when… 1

The ‘Blog Star entrants were invited to write 40 words describing when and where their love affair with Freya began. As a die hard Freya lover, I asked myself this same question – when did my addiction begin?

Quite simply, I fell in love with Freya when I realised the shortcomings of other lingerie available on the high street. I am more than willing to sincerely sing their praises as I’ve found that they have really been a staple in my lingerie collection for as long as I care to remember. As a teen I was fitted in various different high street stores but never correctly and even though I trusted what a ‘professional’ told me (it’s their job, right?!) I never felt right. After deciding to leave chain bra stores forever after struggling with them for so long I came across some pretty Freya bras in a department store (the red Jessica and the oyster Arabella styles to be exact) and was instantly drawn to how darn-right cute they were. Although at first I was put off by the sheer cups (I thought to myself: how will they hold everything in? Will I look odd in them? Change of habit is always hard to break!) I tried them and was amazed by the improvement of fit and comfort simply by changing to a quality bra.

Hello and welcome to ‘Fitting Talk’ 1

Hello readers and welcome to Freya Lingerie’s new blog ‘Fitting Talk’, a long-awaited community which follows the recent social media involvement of the company including the brilliant ‘Bra Doctors’ and ‘Blog Star’ competition… a prize which was awarded to our very much deserving Kerry!

My name is Cheryl and I write a lingerie-based focus blog called Invest In your Chest where I regularly write bra reviews, features and talk about all things under-cracker related.

I was invited to join the ‘Fitting Talk’ blog team after regularly praising the brand for everything that it stands for: great fit, beautiful and cute lingerie and most importantly, catering for the bigger cup size. My personal blog tends to gravitate towards the bigger-busted lady, however it is true to say that for years the larger busted woman would really struggle to find lingerie that they could not only be comfortable in but be proud of and feel sexy in. In my opinion, this is where Freya come in. Since the brand’s launch in 1998, they have been championing the larger cup sized market – now offering stunning lingerie up to a K cup – what’s not to love? More

Hello! 0

Well good afternoon everyone!

I am thrilled to be involved with Freya as an expert blogger; I firmly believe women are the experts of their own comfort, fit and enjoyment of underwear so it’s great to be on board here to talk about my experiences with lingerie from the viewpoints of both a fashion industry blogger and as a real woman with curves!

By way of introduction – I am a 34 year old mum of twin girls, Eva and Mia, who are nearly 2 years old, which makes for a busy life! I run my own business Cherry Sorbet Creative, I write for a number of on and offline publications, I edit blogzine The Scoop and you can read my personal blog over at The Dexterous Diva. More
