Autumn. 0

If you are British then it will be no surprise to you that it is Autumn. In fact, if you are British then you will no doubt have remarked that actually it has felt like autumn since August. But today, with the wind howling, leaves blowing, the chill in the air, the grey clouds and the fact that the children are now back at school, it feels even more so that the colder months are upon us.

Personally, I do not cope with the winter months very well. I would quite happily sleep nestled in a cosy duvet until Christmas and ask after the days festivities to be woken again when the temperature reaches 20c.  As this is quite unlikely I console myself with the new season trends. For Autumn/Winter 2011 the trends include Heritage as seen at Burberry, Mulberry and House of Holland with tweed, herringbone and plaid, perfect for the winter months.  Past decades influenced the look of the new season with Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Chloe adopting the style of 1940s, 1960s and 1970s. Other key trends include fetish as flounced down the catwalk of Mugler by Lady Gaga , spots, monochrome and bright use of colour with tones perfect for autumn such as burgundy and mustard as well as greens, blues and purples. This summary of trends for the forthcoming months may be old news to you now, but the lingerie we wear can also convey a sense of style and fashion awareness even if it is only seen by a special someone. Here are my new season picks…..

Nieve Sapphire Underwired Padded Longline Bra £29

Nieve pretty floral pattern is perfect to wear under the tea dresses for the 1940s trend, the longline length gives a more vintage look.

Lauren Underwired Balcony Bra £29

Lauren despite being for those girly moments, due to the silky fabric could be worn when working both the monochrome and the fetish trend.

Lyla Underwired Plunge Balcony £30

Lyla gives both a fetish look with the lace and very sheer detailing as well as giving a pop of colour under your autumn tone clothing.

Crystal Underwired Moulded Plunge Bra £31

Finally spots are everywhere this season, so why not in your lingerie collection as well?
