Lingerie Review: Freya Active Fun Run 0

Another gorgeous day in the UK which was perfect weather for a run along the beach in sunny Bournemouth. My mum is involved in my local Samaritans and has been organising for weeks a charity fun run from Bournemouth pier to Boscombe pier and she couldn’t have picked a better day for it – or a better bra.

We both decided that this was the perfect opportunity to put the Freya Active range to the test. Not the most sporty people you will ever come across partially due to both of us having FF’s, a good sports bra is essential for any busty lady embarking on a charity event or some cheeky exercise.

The Freya Active sports bra range is like no other as it doesn’t work with the usual ‘compression’ type of support that most other leading brands adopt – the squish and flatten technique which despite being effective with regards to bounce factor, it gives an odd ‘sausage boob’ shape and can cause discomfort if worn for long periods of time – think of them as straight jackets for the boobs!

Mother and I preparing for the run

Mum had on the non-wired version of the bra in a 38FF, despite being usually a 36FF/34G. As a recent convert to the ‘fitted bra’ she is still in what I like to call the ‘transition stage’ when she gets used to wearing a tighter band after wearing *gulps* 38/40Ds for so long. I would have preferred her in a 36G but nevertheless the bra did its job and she found it was comfortable and supportive which is the main thing. She tried the underwired version and found the non-wired version better for her as she often finds wires uncomfortable, and found the non-wired version offered great support but not quite as much as the underwired version.

As I only own one other sports bra (a compression brand), I found the Freya Active really revolutionary for my boobs. As I’d heard the bands come up quite small in the Freya Active range I tried a 30F in this style and I found the fit to be good. My boobs were held in place with minimal bounce and great support.

Mum was having an asthma attack but her boobs were nicely supported

The Freya Active underwired bra comes in 28-38 D-H cups and the soft cup in 28-40 C-H cups.
