Outlet Swimwear Review: Freya Zodiac, Bamboo Island and Mystic Bikinis 2
Never to be put off by a little bit of cloud down by my local beach Sandbanks in Dorset, I ventured to take some pictures of some of my favourite Freya bikinis of times gone by – the ‘Zodiac’, ‘Bamboo Island’ and ‘Mystic’ styles.
All of which have been released for a year or more and are firm favourites. Despite most not being currently sold (unless you are lucky to come across them online or an outlet store) they are similar to many bikini styles and shapes that are available in current and upcoming collections.
The Bamboo Island I actually have in a 30F and it does fit me well. I find with Freya bikinis many of the styles are firm and secure in the back band and not so stretchy as some brands can be. This allows me to go up to a 30 back without much trouble or excessing stretching over time. I bought this style in a 30 back as I adore the triangle soft cup bikini style and all 28 back Freya Swim seems to be sold in the ‘bra’ shape.
The triangle cup style is available in Freya’s classic ‘Supernova’ style, ‘Riviera’, ‘Eclipse’, ‘Circus Circus’ etc.

Despite not having wires, I actually find this bikini just as supportive as a ‘bra style’ bikini – however I find the shape a little inferior under clothing. This style creates great cleavage and the slightly moulded cup offers great support and the modesty factor.
The Freya Zodiac I have in a 30F and again, fits wonderfully. This style I have in the ‘bra’ shape and it really does fit like a dream. I don’t feel the need to have such a tight band with a bikini, especially as it opens up to me so many more choices with styles and shapes.

As you many be able to tell, my taste in bikinis seems to revolve around bright cute prints, particularly florals and graphic prints. Not a black swimsuit in sight!

Last but not least, let me introduce you to my first ever Freya Swim purchase, the ‘Mystic’. Floral and graphic pattern with brown, white, blue and pink in the colour-way, it is so up my street with regards to bikinis. Despite the fact that the cups are a little small on me now, I’ve kept this one as the stretchy material does allow for a little leniency with sizing for me. One day I will allow myself to part with it… and as the latest collection of Freya Swim has the very similar ‘Mystere’ I may have found myself a replacement! Hooray!
Do you have an old Freya Swim favourite?
Much love,
Cheryl x
