Thanks for contacting the Bra Doctor.
An Australian 6F is equivalent to a UK 28F.
Thanks for contacting the bra doctor.
The band should fit snugly, lieing below the shoulder around the back and sit on the sternum between the breasts. It does sound like the band width is too big. We recommend that on first fitting it is on the first hook and eye as with time and wear it will stretch and you can then move it to the second or third.
We suggest you visit your nearest Freya stockist and one of our fitting consultants will be able to assist in getting the perfect fit for you.
Thanks for contacting the Bra doctor.
We would recommend trying both band widths. When you fit them you will then be able to have an immediate comparison.
The perfect fit will be snug with just enough room to slide one finger underneath. The band should sit under the shoulder blades around the back and the underwire should sit below the underarm encompassing all the breast tissue.
See here for our fitting video which will give you further assistance on achieving the perfect fit.
If the underwire is cutting into the breast tissue on the side then this cup is definitely too small.
It could be that the style or range does not suit your breast shape. Was it the balcony or half cup Gem that you had tried on?
It sounds like your bust is heavier on the bottom and lighter on top in which case a balcony or a plunge balcony would suit you best.
We love the Arabella which gives great lift and shape.
The Freya Gem balcony bra does come in rouge size 30FF - please see here.
I have passed all your feed back onto our Web Team.
The strap widths on most Freya bras will be between 14-16mm. If the strap is too thin it will cut into the shoulders and will be unable to provide sufficient support.
The straps on the deco strapless are slightly thinner.
A New Zealand 20D will be equivalent to a UK 42D.
We would recommend a good balcony bra which will give you excellent uplift and shape. Try the Patsy, Gem or the Lauren.
You may also find a moulded bra, with its smoothing effect will give the shape you are looking for. We love the Deco range.
Freya does not have any backless bras, to provide sufficient support a bra must have a back. However if you meant a strapless or a multiway bra the Deco shape will give you both excellent support and shape.
We would recommend that you get fitted at your local Freya stockist which you can find here.
