Thanks for contacting the Bra Doctor.
If the back still fits comfortably then you would be a 12HH (or UK 34HH), if however it is too tight on the back then go up to a 14H (36H).
It is very difficult to tell your true size from measurements because they are found to be around 70% incorrect. To ensure you get the right size and style for your bust we would always recommend going to your nearest Freya stockist to be professionally fitted.
The UK equivalent size to 32DDD is 32E. Please see here for our size guide.
We love our underwired Active sports bra which is available in 36JJ in a variety of colours and is perfect for high impact sports as it supports rather than compresses.
With regards to swimwear - we have two ranges available in a 36JJ, please see here. Although they are not specifically sports swimwear they will give complete support.
Sadly the Arabella has been discontinued. The Ooh La La is based on the same fit and comes in both a pale pink and a bright red.
We only have the two bikinis available in 32JJ but you may like to try your alternate size of 34J which has more choice available here.
Yes - A US 34DDD is equivalent to a UK 34E.
The Revival and the Tootsie tankini both have the same fit with the same level of padding.
The padding on the Freya swimwear range is not designed to increase the size of the bust but to ensure it is not transparent and to give smooth definition. As such the padding is at most 3mm thick.
When you initially put the bra on, is it filled? Normally when you put a bra on, you adjust yourself (swoop and scoop) to ensure it is sitting properly. If the cup is full at this point then it is the correct size and it may be that over the progress of the day you need to readjust and do another swoop and scoop.
If the bra is not filled when you initially put it on then it could be that you need a smaller cup size - 28DD.
Or it could be that the style does not suit your bust shape as you may be shallower on top - if this is the case then a half cup rather than a balcony bra would suit you better.
If she prefers the half cup style - please see our range of half cup styles in nude and white here.
Ideally we would recommend she is fitted to ensure she is wearing the correct size. Perhaps order a couple of sizes to refit her such as 34F or 34E.
Once you’ve discovered your size, you need to find the style to suit your shape & flatter your figure. Uncover our hints & tips to help you choose the right bra.
