For a high impact sport such as running we would recommend a bra that will support rather than compress such as the Freya Active Crop top. Research at Plymouth university have concluded that this sports bra reduces independent movement by up 92%. Please see here for more details on this research.
The Marvel does have elasticated straps and offers excellent support and forward projection. However it is the Faye that is most similar to the Pollyanna that you have been wearing. This range does include shorts and you can view it here.
For a medium - high impact sport such as martial arts we would recommend a sports bra that fully supports rather than compresses the bust. We love the Freya Active Crop Top, this range does not come in 30C but is available in your alternate size of 28D.
If you are planning on going up in the back size, you come down in the cup size - so it will be a 36D.
Alternatively it could be the style of bra that needs to be changed. Perhaps a style with wider straps offering more support such as the Gem.
Thanks for contacting the Bra doctor.
The cup sizes will increase along with the back sizes, so for example a 34 G cup is smaller than a 36G cup. If possible try on both sizes to see which gives the better fit.
Please see here for our range of sports bras, they are designed with the female form in mind in terms of back and cup sizes.
